Business Strategy & Plan
Formulation & implementation of a new Business Strategy for
a family run UK manufacturer. The plan included the
transition of responsibilities from the founder who was
retiring from day to day operational involvement. The
strategy focused on double digit year on year revenue growth
through the expansion of the Trade & Retail business along
with the development of the fledgling B2B arm. The range of
products was rationalised to increase competitiveness and
profitability. In 2 years the business has grown from £2.76m
to >£4m turnover.
Interim Marketing Management
The provision of a part time Interim marketing manager to
help a business services agency to deliver on a range of key
projects. A wide variety of work was completed over two
separate six month assignments. The work included lead
generation, literature proofing & production, direct
marketing, market awareness, strategic input, marketing
plans, budgets, analysis of market segments and analysis of
results. The outcome was the completion of a variety of
projects ahead of schedule and with lead generation targets
exceeded.
Marketing Plan Development & Implementation
Review of the existing marketing plan, activities and
budgets prior to the creation of a new strategy aligned to
the business growth ambitions of the business. The
advertising mix and creative was redeveloped to target the
desired audience more directly. A PR agency was engaged to
create greater awareness of the company’s Brand values and
products in regional and national press. The product
literature and website were refreshed to showcase the
product range and show customer case studies. The net result
has seen double digit revenue growth and a slight reduction
in the marketing spend.
Business Planning
Business plan development for an architects practice. The
project involved the Directors and Associates in a mix of
one to one meetings, a series of workshops and a staff
presentation. The deliverables included a Business Plan,
Vision & Mission Statements and an Action Plan. The
implementation of the plan is currently underway.
New Business Development
An integrated direct marketing campaign targeted at
competitor knockouts. Utilising market analysis, competitor
research, product bundles, direct mail & telemarketing to
increase overall market share to 15% in a price conscious,
fragmented market.
Entering New Markets
A joint marketing programme with a hardware manufacturer
this IT Reseller & Solutions provider successfully forged a
new business sector within eighteen months. The integrated
marketing programme was focused on emerging business issues
and how the application of IT could accelerate the speed to
market of new product developments. The campaign comprised
of a series of quarterly educational seminars that attracted
over 150 attendees at each event.
Direct Marketing
With a very limited budget this Software Reseller worked
with a new supplier to tackle the SME market. A series of
three strategic, direct marketing campaigns with creative
mailers, telemarketing, web conferencing and free of charge
“Getting Started Guides” generated £2m of new revenue over
two years.
Customer Retention & Satisfaction
Development of an integrated marketing programme to the
existing customer base aimed at improving customer
satisfaction. Utilised a mix of on-line Internet channels,
educational newsletters and improvements to the product mix.
Result was the highest rating from the annual satisfaction
survey in a decade.
Branding & Company Launch
Branding and launch of a new software products company
formed through the acquisition of three independent
businesses. Company trebled turnover within three years as a
result.
Product Strategy
Reappraisal of the Product Strategy and Marketing Mix for a
medium sized IT Solutions Supplier to the Healthcare market.
Within two years the company returned to profit and expanded
market share.
Partner Marketing Programmes
Creation and implementation of a comprehensive, fully
integrated Marketing Plan for a small IT Reseller. This led
to the attainment of the Corporate Reseller of the Year
Award as the company’s turnover doubled within a year.
Brand Awareness
A new corporate identity needed to be communicated to
customers, employees and partners to raise awareness and
confidence in the company’s goals. A targeted mix of on &
off-line advertising, a PR program, corporate hospitality,
launch events and innovative direct mail was used to engage
the broad array of stakeholders. As a direct result the
company obtained its first £1m order.
Business Planning & Marketing Strategy
Evaluation and further development of the Business Plan and
Marketing Strategy for a dot com, business to consumer,
start-up who were seeking Venture Capital Funding. The
company successfully raised the Capital and now, four years
later, is expanding further.
